Imagine sea kayaking in East Dover and Saint Margaret’s Bay; surfing on Lawrencetown Beach; exploring the rocks and iconic lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove; tidal bore rafting on the Shubenacadie River; or hiking one of the many trails like Taylor Head and the Musquodoboit TransCanada Trail.

Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) has over 1 200 parks, many open spaces and hundreds of kilometres of recreation trails. Runners, walkers, dog walkers, nature enthusiasts, scientists, hikers, and picnickers all enjoy HRM’s parks and open spaces as places to enjoy nature. HRM’s parks are open year-round.

Sports facilities
